Below are a couple of top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.
• Top AEW Star Expected To Leave For WWE
Mariah May may be nearing the end of her run in All Elite Wrestling, with strong indications that she is planning a move to WWE. According to Wrestling Observer Radio, both AEW insiders and WWE contacts believe the former AEW Women’s World Champion is looking to make the jump.
Dave Meltzer revealed, “I know from people in WWE… they know she wants to go there. I don’t know when her contract is up, everyone seems to think it’s this Summer.”
His colleague Bryan Alvarez echoed that sentiment, saying, “I was given the impression it’s a two-year deal that she signed originally, so you can do the math. I have heard the same thing. At least in AEW, there’s a belief she’s heading to WWE.”
Meltzer also noted that her WWE aspirations were known well before she signed with AEW in November 2023. “Her dream is WWE,” he said, referencing conversations with people close to May before her AEW debut.
Fueling the speculation further, May recently posted a cryptic message on Instagram, writing, “You can’t make the wrong decision because every decision leads you to where you’re supposed to be.” The post has stirred talk among fans about a potential departure.
May quickly became a key figure in AEW’s women’s division through her alignment and eventual feud with “Timeless” Toni Storm. Their storyline culminated in the “Hollywood Ending” match at Revolution in March, where Storm emerged victorious. May has not appeared on AEW television since.
Earlier reports had suggested that May’s AEW contract might expire in the summer of 2025, but it’s currently unclear whether the deal includes any option years. For now, speculation continues to swirl around her next move—and all signs point toward WWE.

• Backstage News On Hook Vomiting In The Ring On AEW Dynamite
AEW star Hook (Taz’s son) caused concern among fans last week after vomiting in the ring during a tag team match on AEW Dynamite, where he teamed with Samoa Joe to take on Claudio Castagnoli and Wheeler Yuta of The Death Riders.
Following the incident, speculation quickly spread online about a possible concussion. However, Wrestling Observer Radio’s Dave Meltzer has clarified that Hook did not suffer a concussion and is doing fine.
Meltzer reported, “Hook is doing okay,” and confirmed that there was no head injury involved.
The exact reason behind Hook’s sudden sickness hasn’t been confirmed, but Meltzer did note that Hook took a tough bump in the match, saying, “He did land stomach-first on a steel chair.” Whether that impact contributed to his nausea is still unknown.
