• As we reported before, WWE Hall of Famer Nikki Bella has filed for divorce from Artem Chigvintsev after two years of marriage.
This comes just weeks after Artem’s arrest on August 29 for felony domestic violence, following an alleged attack on Nikki that left visible injuries. Nikki reportedly began seeking divorce lawyers immediately after the arrest and filed the paperwork in court on Wednesday.
Nikki is seeking legal and physical custody of her son, Matteo, in her divorce. In the divorce documents, she cites irreconcilable differences and marks August 29, the day of Artem’s arrest for felony domestic violence, as their date of separation.
Bella has requested that neither she nor Artem receive spousal support and is open to Artem having visitation rights with their 4-year-old son.
It should be noted that Nikki and Artem didn’t legally marry until 5 months after their wedding. In her divorce petition filed on September 11, Nikki listed their official marriage date as January 19, 2023, despite having their wedding ceremony in Paris in August 2022.
The couple has been living separately, with Nikki in Napa Valley and Artem staying with a friend. Artem was arrested after calling 911 for medical assistance but later canceling the request. Police arrived at the scene and arrested him based on the visible injuries.
Nikki and Artem met on “Dancing With The Stars” in 2017, began dating in 2018 after her split from John Cena, got engaged in 2020, and married in 2022.
