• Top Star “Not On The Same Page” With AEW Creatively

Swerve Strickland made a major return at AEW Full Gear 2025 and was featured in several top storylines in the months that followed. However, his momentum has slowed down recently as his creative direction appears to have shifted.

According to Self Made Pro, Swerve and All Elite Wrestling have not always been on the same page creatively this year. The report suggests there were periods where both sides were not moving in the same direction regarding his booking.

It was also noted that the planned continuation of Swerve’s storyline with Kenny Omega did not progress as originally expected. At one stage, the program was set to continue further, but those plans are now believed to be on hold and may no longer be active.

Swerve and Omega have faced each other twice this year, with both men picking up one win each. In his most recent match, Swerve came up short in his attempt to protect his AEW World Title opportunity and also failed to dethrone Omega from his EVP position.

Since then, Swerve has reappeared in vignette segments on AEW Dynamite over the past two weeks and has started a new feud involving Ring of Honor World Champion Bandido.

• Randy Orton’s Return Date Revealed

Randy Orton was last seen on WWE programming at WrestleMania 42 – Night 1, where he failed to defeat Cody Rhodes for the Undisputed WWE Championship in the main event.

Also on that night, Orton laid out his partner, Pat McAfee. This led to the end of the McAfee storyline. Orton hasn’t appeared on TV since his big loss, but it looks like his return is near.

WWE is advertising Randy Orton for the May 29th episode of SmackDown at Olympic Arena in Barcelona, Spain. This is the final episode before the Clash In Italy PLE, where Rhodes will defend the WWE Title against Gunther.
