WARNING: This article contains a spoiler for AEW Rampage.
After being undefeated for 60 consecutive matches, Jade Cargill lost the TBS Women’s Championship to Kris Statlander at the AEW Double Or Nothing pay-per-view earlier this year.
Following her loss, Cargill took time off from All Elite Wrestling for several months and returned to the company at this past Saturday’s episode of AEW Collision, to take out TBS Champion Kris Statlander after her title defense against Robyn Renegade.
Cargill will challenge Statlander for the TBS Championship in the main event of AEW Rampage this Friday. The match was taped after last night’s episode of AEW Dynamite, which ended with Statlander defeating Cargill to retain the title and the two women showing respect to each other after the match.
According to Fightful Select, Jade Cargill is believed to be finishing up with AEW. Sources in WWE and AEW believe that she’s headed to WWE.
This probably means that Cargill will make her last AEW appearance on Rampage.
In an interview with Women’s Wrestling Talk, the first ever TBS Champion, Cargill, stated that she’d prefer working for AEW over WWE, as AEW President Tony Khan treats talents very well.
“I am, always (in contact with him). He’s a phenomenal boss. I can literally hit him up now and he’d probably hit me back up in three minutes. This is a man who has four companies, a professional soccer team, Jacksonville Jaguars, he’s busy, [but] he literally comes to every show. He’s so passionate, he loves our company.
There’s no other place I’d want to be. He doesn’t look at me as a number, he looks at me like a human being. He knows my journey and understands my purpose in the wrestling community and what I want to achieve and I don’t think you can beat that. You can’t beat this in a very interesting sport.”
