Below are some top WWE news stories of the day.

• WWE appears to be setting the stage for a potential babyface turn for World Heavyweight Champion Gunther. At Survivor Series, where he retained his title against Damian Priest, Gunther showed an unusual level of frustration and vulnerability.

After securing the win with unexpected help from Finn Balor, Gunther reacted by kicking Balor in the face, signaling his displeasure with the interference.

This defiance, combined with fans’ growing appreciation for his in-ring skill, has sparked speculation about a character shift.

The Wrestling Observer noted that WWE seems to be planting seeds for Gunther’s transformation into a fan-favorite. While his transition likely won’t occur until after a rumored match with Goldberg in 2025 — where Goldberg would likely play the babyface — WWE appears to be embracing the organic connection Gunther is forming with audiences.
