4. Update On Adam Cole’s WWE Status
The longest reigning NXT Champion, Adam Cole, continued his reign after defeating Velveteen Dream in a brutal Backlot Brawl at NXT TakeOver: In Your House.
Over the past few weeks, there had been rumors that Cole’s contract with WWE was going to expire in August. However, that isn’t the case.
PWInsider is reporting that Cole has more than 18 months left in his deal with WWE:
“In regard to rumors we’ve been asked about regarding the status of Adam Cole in WWE, we are told he has well over 18 months left on his current deal.”
Cole most likely signed an extension last year, when WWE offered several NXT wrestlers contracts after NXT’s move to the USA Network.
