• Old School NWA Legend Celebrates His Birthday

Old School NWA Legend Magnum T.A. (Real name: Terry Allen) celebrates his 61st birthday today.

The story of Magnum T.A. is actually a very sad one as he was supposed to become the NWA’s counterpart to the WWF’s Hulk Hogan, which means that he had the potential to not only become the face of the company, but even could’ve turned Jim Crockett Promotions into a serious competitor against the World Wrestling Federation during the 80s.

Magnum was already booked to defeat “The Nature Boy” Ric Flair for the NWA World Heavyweight Championship in the main event of the Starrcade 1986 PPV, but unfortunately had a car accident a few weeks before the event, in which he suffered several injuries that forced him to end his professional wrestling career.

It’s safe to say that history would’ve been different if that accident had never happened. Who knows? It’s quite possible, that Jim Crockett Promotions wouldn’t have needed to sell to Turner in late 1988, so people like Jim Herd, who ruined a lot for a lot of people, never would’ve gotten hired. One can only dream.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY MAGNUM T.A.!

• Triple H Thinks Current NXT Wrestler Is A Locker Room Leader & Future WWE Champion

While speaking to metro.co.uk after NXT TakeOver: In Your House, WWE Hall of Famer Triple H was asked what he thinks of the current NXT North American Champion, Keith Lee.

Below is what The Game said:

“He’s just the kind of guy that you wanna work hard for, and you wanna deliver for him.

Man, I love working with him. You say ‘Keith Lee, World Champion’ – and you ask me what my opinion is? I say ‘Hell yeah!’

Look, it certainly wouldn’t shock me, right? Keith has every tool. It’s funny, sometimes on the air Mauro will call him a ‘moment maker’ – he is! He’s just a moment making machine. His matches are stellar.

For someone like Keith, the real task is teaching them to be ‘comfortable’ and trust their own instincts as performers.

It’s funny, when talent sometimes comes in here, you’re doing the same things in how you work with them but they have a preconceived notion of what they think you’re looking for and how you’re looking for it.

So they change what they do to try to deliver some preconceived notion of what they think that you want – but it’s really not what you’re looking for.

Sometimes it’s a while. Man, now that Keith is comfortable here, he’s just…such a great guy

Hard working, humble, just wants to deliver. Great human being, locker room leader. Everything that you could want – an ultimate pro.”
