Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring SmackDown and WrestleMania 41.
• WWE Executive Director Bruce Prichard is set to return to his role this week after taking a leave of absence since November 2024 for family health reasons, according to PWInsider.
During his absence, rumors about his WWE status circulated but were debunked by PWInsider and his podcast co-host Conrad Thompson, who clarified that Prichard was temporarily stepping away to focus on family matters.
Here’s what Conrad said:
“I just want to address the elephant in the room. There’s been a lot of rumor and innuendo about Bruce Prichard. Just to clear it up, Bruce Prichard is still with WWE.
Bruce Prichard is not quitting his podcast, but if you’re a longtime listener of this show, you know that there have been health events in the Prichard family and household and right now, Bruce is going to take a little bit of a leave of absence from WWE, and he’s going to be away, taking care of what’s really important.”
Prichard, a key figure in WWE’s creative and talent operations since 1987, is expected to attend tonight’s SmackDown taping.
