WWE has been successful in re-signing multiple talents throughout 2024, and it seems Kevin Owens may be the next to stay.
Owens previously shared that his WWE contract is set to expire soon, with only 9 months remaining, but there hasn’t been any update since.
According to WrestleVotes, Owens is close to finalizing a new deal. Although there hasn’t been an official confirmation, sources indicate the agreement is nearly complete, possibly sealed with a handshake, suggesting Owens is likely to remain with WWE for the long term.
“I did reach out and talked to a couple of people. Didn’t get a definitive one way or the other, an absolute that the deal has been signed, but did get a positive response that it’s very close if not completed with a handshake. So I’d imagine he’s around for the long term now.”
After Bad Blood went off the air, Kevin Owens was seen attacking WWE Champion Cody Rhodes in the parking lot, prompting Triple H to state that the situation would be handled internally.
Owens later appeared on SmackDown but wasn’t given time to explain his actions and ended up attacking Randy Orton in another parking lot incident.
On social media, Owens addressed the situation. He said there have been many questions and judgments about why he attacked Cody, but WWE hasn’t allowed him to explain. “They’ve tried to shut me up,” he claimed, noting that WWE refused to air a video he sent over the weekend and cut his mic on SmackDown.
Owens expressed frustration that WWE gives plenty of airtime to Cody but not to him, and while he hates using social media, he feels forced to do so. He gave WWE an ultimatum: if they don’t air his video explaining why he attacked Cody on SmackDown by Friday, he’ll post it online himself.
