At WrestleMania 41 – Night 1, Tiffany Stratton picked up the biggest win of her young career, when she defeated Charlotte Flair to retain the WWE Women’s Championship in her first ever WrestleMania match.
This was one of the most talked-about matchups heading into WrestleMania 41—and it remained a hot topic after the event.
The WWE Women’s Championship match not only delivered on its high expectations but also stood out for its intense physicality. According to backstage sources cited by PWInsider, the action inside the ring was particularly stiff, with one source noting that Flair was “really laying it in” throughout the bout.
The match’s hard-hitting nature even sparked rumors that Stratton may have suffered a chipped or broken tooth. However, Stratton addressed the speculation after the event, assuring fans that “she still has all her teeth,” despite how physical things got in the ring.
Though the match had a noticeably aggressive tone, it went off without any major interruptions. Backstage reactions reportedly focused on how intense the exchanges were.
On WrestleMania 41 post show, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H praised Tiffany and said she’s going to be on top for a long time:
“Tiffany-Charlotte was a fight, hell of a fight. I hope they’re both OK. You know, adrenaline’s a magical thing. So in the moment, I think they’re both good. But it was a hell of a war.
And you know, for Tiffany Stratton, in the short period of time to be in the business, to stand in the ring with one of the absolute best in the business. And I don’t mean absolute best in the women’s division. I mean one of the absolute best in the business in Charlotte Flair.
And hang with her on that big stage when, you know, it’s hard to put into words as nervous as you are, and I’m sure Charlotte was and I’m sure she was wound up and the nerves are there. She’s been doing this for a while and been in that role for a lot of time. Tiffany is not.
I’m sure WrestleMania had her on edge and for her to deliver in that manner, in that moment says a lot about who she is and why she’s going to be on top for a long, long time.”
