Below are some top WWE news stories of the day, involving Sami Zayn and Rikishi.
• In the main event of this week’s RAW, Sami Zayn won the Gauntlet match by pinning Chad Gable in the end.
Sami will now face Gunther for the Intercontinental Championship at WrestleMania 40.
Fans on Social Media weren’t happy about this, as they wanted Gable to win and face Gunther at the Show of Shows.
2-Time WWE Hall of Famer & NXT commentator Booker T noted on his podcast that Sami wasn’t happy about the online reaction:
“He was so literally upset about the online heat that he got from fans. He was like, ‘I thought they loved me, you know, and then I see all this stuff’.
I said, ‘Man, you can’t listen to that white noise. You have to think about how great that match was, and you are going look back on this match one day and think that was some really, really good work that I did’, but he still was feeling that heat.”
Gunther and Sami will have a WrestleMania contract signing this coming Monday on RAW.

• On last night’s episode of SmackDown, Jey Uso vs. Jimmy Uso was officially confirmed for WrestleMania 40.
On his Off The Top podcast, WWE Hall of Famer Rikishi (father of The Usos) revealed which one of his sons should win this match:
“Jey is having a hell of a year as a single. Jimmy’s the same as far as being involved in the group with The Bloodline and so, to see the steam that Jey is having as a singles career, it only makes sense from a business standpoint.
If I was on the board of TKO or WWE, we’d have to go with YEET. I would feel that would be the best business move, to be able to let Jey get the upper hand for WrestleMania against his brother.”
