• Top WWE Star Will Miss WrestleMania 41
Sami Zayn is scheduled to miss WrestleMania 41. According to Fightful Select, there are currently no plans for Zayn to appear at the biggest WWE show of 2025 in any capacity.
He was last seen on WWE programming at the Elimination Chamber premium live event in Toronto on March 1st, where he lost to Kevin Owens in a brutal Unsanctioned Match.
There were rumors that Sami requested time off from WWE, but Zayn shot down those rumors, calling them “100% faux.”
Zayn had major roles at the last two WrestleManias. He main evented Night 1 of WrestleMania 39, where he teamed up with Kevin Owens to defeat The Usos to win the Undisputed WWE Tag Team Championship, thus ending Jimmy & Jey Uso’s record-setting longest Tag Team Title reign in WWE history.
At WrestleMania 40 – Night 1, Sami defeated Gunther to win the Intercontinental Championship, thus ending The Ring General’s record-setting longest Intercontinental Title reign in company history.
• Triple H Reveals What He Did When CM Punk Wasn’t Happy With A Recent Creative Plan
CM Punk returned to WWE after almost 10 years at Survivor Series 2023 and he is enjoying his current run.
During an interview on the High Performance podcast, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H revealed what happened backstage when Punk didn’t like a recent creative plan:
“We’ve had a couple of moments since his return, there was one moment where he’d return and they told him something creatively and they told me, ‘He does not like this.’ I was like, ‘Okay, I’ll talk to him.’ Went and talked to him. ‘What’s going on?’ I told him the creative and he was like, ‘That’s good, whatever.’
I was like, ‘I know you don’t like it. Everybody’s told me. Let’s be open.’ He complained about what it was and I said, ‘Let’s go sit and talk about it and come up with something good.’
That sort of changed, it was like a paradigm shift for us relationship-wise, and now, it’s a funny thing for me to say, sitting down and being collaborative with CM Punk is one of my favorite things in TV because he shares a very similar view at the end of the day of the business as I do.”
