Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Triple H and Cody Rhodes.
• Triple H Absolutely Loved His Embarrassing WrestleMania Loss
Triple H made his WrestleMania debut in 1996. He lost to The Ultimate Warrior in just 99 seconds at WrestleMania 12.
During an interview on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, The Game revealed that this loss is one of his greatest memories:
“Actually, it’s a funny thing. For me, this is my first WrestleMania that I would compete in. And for a lot of people, they think this is almost an embarrassing moment in my career for me. I was basically squashed in a couple of minutes by The Ultimate Warrior.
But for me, one, it was my first WrestleMania, and two, The Ultimate Warrior is one of the biggest stars ever in the WWE.
So when they came to me and said, ‘You’re going to get to work with the Ultimate Warrior at WrestleMania,’ I was just out of my mind, excited, sort of.
That, to me, is one of my greatest memories of just it being… it’s like going to the Super Bowl and you got to throw against Brady or something like that. It was just such a great experience for me, and I enjoyed it immensely.”
• Cody Rhodes Plans To Leave WWE For Hollywood
During an interview on Pardon My Take podcast, Undisputed WWE Champion Cody Rhodes talked about his Hollywood aspirations:
“I’d love to get out there, there’s some fun projects coming up. I’d love to get out there and tell stories that way for sure and grow. I love pro wrestling, I always will.
To get out there, I love what Rock has done, I love what John (Cena) has done, and Dave Batista as well. All of them have gone different routes when approaching Hollywood and I think I might be next to join the fray in all that.”
The American Nightmare will be a part of the Naked Gun reboot, which will release on August 1st this year.
