• Triple H Changed Plans For NXT Star On RAW To Protect Him

As seen on this week’s episode of RAW, former NXT North American Champion Ricochet teamed up with Intercontinental Champion Finn Balor to defeat the team of Bobby Lashley & Lio Rush.

According to the Wrestling Observer, original plan for Ricochet’s RAW debut was for him to face Balor in a singles match.

However, Triple H had a problem with this. Triple H didn’t want to do a “Babyface vs. Babyface” match and didn’t think Ricochet should lose in his RAW debut (as Balor won the Intercontinental Title the night before, so they have to keep him strong).

Triple H changed Vince McMahon’s mind regarding Finn Balor vs. Ricochet and they ended up booking a tag team match (for which they had to pair up Lashley & Rush again after it looked like they had split up).
