Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Triple H and CM Punk.

• Under Triple H’s creative leadership in WWE, there have been numerous changes compared to Vince McMahon’s era, with production and in-ring elements evolving significantly. One of the latest shifts involves the way promo segments are handled backstage.

PWInsider reported the following:

“There was a change backstage this week at RAW as writers for the promo segments were internally listed on run-sheets for the show.”

This is a departure from the past when writers were not typically credited for segments without physical interactions between wrestlers. A source described this as a “natural evolution” in WWE’s creative process.

For example, Alexandra Williams, a longtime Senior Writer, was credited for CM Punk’s promo. Jey Uso’s promo was assigned to Brian Parise, a veteran creative team member, while Sami Zayn’s promo had Christian Scovell, a writer and producer with WWE for 5 years, listed as the writer.

• On this week’s NXT, CM Punk came out to make an announcement, but got interrupted by NXT Women’s Champion Roxanne Perez.

Roxanne (age 22) said she always preferred Punk’s wife (AJ Lee), and that she realized she should’ve been a Drew McIntyre fan growing up.

McIntyre tweeted the following after this segment:

“None of this ‘you’re my wrestling daughter’ bs

Only freaks do that.

I’m just very proud of you @roxanne_wwe”
