On his Six Feet Under podcast, The Undertaker admitted that there’s only one current WWE Superstar who could tempt him to step back into the ring: Gunther. The WWE Hall of Famer explained that if he still felt physically capable of competing at a high level, The Ring General would be the opponent he’d want.
Gunther responded by calling Undertaker his “senpai” and said that if the match ever happened, he’d be happy to follow the legend’s lead inside the ring. While Undertaker made it clear that his retirement is final, the praise shows just how highly he rates Gunther among today’s roster.
Gunther recently retired Goldberg on Saturday Night’s Main Event. The Undertaker’s final match took place 5 years ago at WrestleMania 36.
• WWE Targeting WCW Veteran For Legends Contract
WWE may soon be adding Konnan to its growing list of Legends under contract. A recent report suggests that the company sees significant potential in Konnan’s legacy, especially when it comes to merchandise. According to WrestleVotes, WWE’s marketing division is reportedly behind the push. They’re said to be eager to roll out a line of products tied to Konnan’s career, which could include apparel, collectibles, and action figures.
The move wouldn’t interfere with Konnan’s current work. He remains involved with both AAA and MLW in various roles, and WWE acquiring AAA makes such an arrangement easier to manage.
While Konnan’s brief time in WWE as the Comet Kid in the early ’90s barely made a mark, his influence in WCW and across Mexican wrestling is enormous. In the early 1990s, he became a cultural icon in Mexico, with crossover fame rarely seen in the business, often likened to Hulk Hogan’s status in the U.S.
Konnan’s impact also extends behind the scenes. His efforts helped launch the careers of talents like Rey Mysterio and contributed heavily to the evolution of Lucha Libre’s international appeal.

Karrion Kross and Scarlett have been moved to WWE’s alumni section after their contracts expired. PWInsider reported that they were offered new deals earlier this week. Fightful Select noted that Kross and Scarlett will be answering questions about this in the next few days. They also noted that this situation could be a work to get Kross over even more.
The Wrestling Observer reported a few days back that they don’t expect Kross to leave WWE:
“I was told that the story about him not being signed to a contract. I heard that that is legit, but that he did get an offer. The story that he didn’t get an offer, and maybe when the story that he didn’t get an offer was written, it was accurate, but I was told he’s gotten an offer. I don’t expect him going anywhere.”
The report also suggested that the contract drama might be a creative angle. The buzz and fan support, such as chants of ‘We Want Kross’, could be building momentum for a bigger push. WWE’s promotion of Kross’ memoir ‘Life is Fighting’ backs up this theory, since it wouldn’t make sense to heavily promote someone about to leave.

Roman Reigns will soon be stepping away from WWE TV to work on a major film project, but not before competing in some key upcoming events. At SummerSlam 2025, Reigns teamed with Jey Uso to defeat Bronson Reed and Bron Breakker of The Vision. On RAW after SummerSlam, The Vision launched a brutal attack, with Reed hitting multiple Tsunamis and stealing Reigns’ sneakers for the second time. Despite the beating, The OTC is confirmed by the Wells Fargo Center for the August 18th RAW in Philadelphia. He has also been added to the August 25th RAW in Birmingham, England.
According to WrestleVotes, Reigns is scheduled for a match at Clash in Paris on August 31. This will not be against Seth Rollins for the World Heavyweight Championship, as WWE is saving that encounter for a bigger event down the road. WWE Unreal previously revealed that a Reigns vs. Rollins singles match was the original plan for WrestleMania 41. There is now speculation that the bout could happen at WrestleMania 42, set for Allegiant Stadium in Las Vegas.
After his August commitments, Reigns is expected to be off WWE TV for about a month. PWInsider reports he will be in Australia from September 2 to film the new Street Fighter movie, where he will portray Akuma. Filming for Roman’s part is set to last four weeks and should wrap by late September. WWE is said to be confident this schedule will not disrupt their ongoing storylines.
WWE is expected to write Roman off TV at Clash In Paris, where he is rumored to face Bronson Reed. So far, WWE has officially announced only one match for Clash In Paris: John Cena vs. Logan Paul.
• Why John Cena’s Final Match Won’t Be on a PLE
The countdown is officially on for John Cena’s last match in WWE. The 17-time world champion has confirmed he’s wrapping up his in-ring career by the end of 2025, with his farewell set for mid-December at Boston’s TD Garden – a detail his father let slip earlier this year.
Some fans assumed WWE would give Cena a grand PLE sendoff, maybe even under a nostalgic Ruthless Aggression banner. But that’s not happening. WWE’s 2025 schedule is already stacked, with the extra night of SummerSlam and the addition of Evolution filling out Peacock’s yearly PLE quota. Survivor Series on November 29 will be the final premium live event of the year.
That leaves December without a PLE slot, so Cena’s last match will headline the year’s final Saturday Night’s Main Event. According to the Wrestling Observer, December 13 is the most likely date – perfectly aligning with Cena’s own “mid-December” hint.
So while it won’t be a PLE spectacle, the sendoff will still be in a big-arena setting, with Boston fans getting the honor of saying goodbye to one of WWE’s all-time greats.
