Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving The Undertaker and CM Punk.

• During his Six Feet Under podcast, WWE Hall of Famer The Undertaker was asked if he wanted a custom title belt when he was the WWF Champion back in the day.

While answering this question, Undertaker revealed that he wasn’t a fan of the spinner WWE Championship introduced by John Cena in 2005, and called it ‘awful’.

Here’s what The Deadman said:

“No. I’m a traditionalist. I’m old school. Whatever the World Title is, that’s what I wanted to represent.

As cool as [the custom belt] is, it’s one of the nicest looking belts I’ve seen. I would have wanted one of the traditional belts, unless it was the spinner belt, which was awful.

If I had my choice, the spinner belt or [custom belt], I would have gone with the [custom belt]. I always like the traditional championships.

Back then, it was more about being the champion than marketing. I’m not opposed to making money. I just think there are certain traditions and things that should be untouched.

The championship should be the championship.”

• CM Punk returned to the ring at last night’s WWE Live Event at Madison Square Garden for a singles match.

This was his first WWE match in almost 10 years, as his last match before this was the 2014 Royal Rumble.

He faced former 2-time NXT North American Champion Dominik Mysterio of The Judgment Day and won after hitting a GTS.

MSG officials gave Punk a gift and it was a plaque commemorating his first WWE match in a decade.
