Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving The Undertaker, Vince McMahon and A-Town Down Under.

• After the Chris Benoit tragedy in 2007 and the PG Era starting in 2008, WWE banned chair shots to the head due to concussion problems.

In 2011 at WrestleMania 27, The Undertaker and Triple H decided to go against the rules when HHH hit Taker in the head with a steel chair (although it wasn’t an unprotected chair shot to the head, as Taker got his hand up to protect himself).

On his Six Feet Under podcast, The Deadman revealed that Vince McMahon fined both him and The Game for this:

“Even after they banned the chair shots (to the head), I’m wrestling Triple H and we’re figuring like, ‘I’m the most tenured guy here. You’re his son-in-law. Surely we can get away with it’. Nah, he fined our a$$ too!

I remember getting my check for WrestleMania and there was that big minus on there and I was like, son of a b*tch. I called [Triple H] up right away. I said, ‘Did you get fined?’ And he was like, ‘Yeah, I got fined too!’

And I was like, ‘What the hell good is it to be his son-in-law or his most tenured guy?’ But he had to set an example, right? And that’s what he did.”

• On last night’s episode of SmackDown, Tommaso Ciampa defeated WWE Tag Team Champion Austin Theory.

During this match, WWE teased a breakup for A-Town Down Under, as Theory wasn’t happy when Grayson Waller said he made Theory relevant again.

Waller will face Johnny Gargano on next week’s SmackDown.
