Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Brock Lesnar and RAW.
• Brock Lesnar was pulled from WWE’s plans earlier this year after he was indirectly mentioned in the Vince McMahon trafficking lawsuit.
Despite the controversy surrounding Lesnar, Michael Cole mentioned The Beast’s name during the recent WWE King & Queen of the Ring premium live event in Saudi Arabia.
While talking about how this year’s King & Queen of the Ring winners will receive World Title matches at SummerSlam, Cole mentioned that Lesnar was the last person to win the King of the Ring tournament and challenge for a World Title at SummerSlam back in 2002.
This raised fans’ hopes of The Beast returning to WWE TV soon, but that’s not the case.
There has been no indication given to WWE writers that Lesnar will be returning to WWE programming anytime soon.
During the WrestleMania 40 – Night 1 post-show press conference, WWE’s Chief Content Officer Triple H was asked about Brock’s status with the company. HHH said the following:
“At one point there was a conversation with Brock about Royal Rumble quite a long time ago. Right now Brock is home being Brock, and we’ll see where that leads to from here. The status is the same as it’s been before. Brock is not gone from WWE, he’s just home being Brock.”
• WWE has announced the following for next week’s RAW:
– Sheamus vs. Ludwig Kaiser
– The New Day vs. The Authors of Pain
– World Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest vs. Rey Mysterio
