1. Update On John Cena’s Return Feud (WWE Possibly Re-doing Old WrestleMania Feud) & Possible Huge WrestleMania 34 Plan

As we all know, 16 time WWE World Heavyweight Champion John Cena will return to WWE programming on next week’s episode of SmackDown Live.

Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer noted that Cena might feud with Rusev because there’s no one else free on the SmackDown Live roster to feud with Cena at the moment. Cena and Rusev feuded back in 2015 and Cena went on to become the first man to pin Rusev on the WWE main roster at WrestleMania 31 and win the United States Championship. It’s possible that Cena & Rusev end up facing each other at the Battleground 2017 PPV.

As we noted yesterday, huge changes have been made to the SummerSlam 2017 and WrestleMania 34 main event. With Roman Reigns announcing that he’s going to face the Universal Champion at SummerSlam 2017, it was first thought that this plan was going to change when Strowman defeats Reigns at Great Balls of Fire 2017 and then gets a Universal Title match instead of Reigns.

However, Meltzer notes that the SummerSlam 2017 main event plans were changed from Brock Lesnar vs. Braun Strowman to Brock Lesnar vs. Roman Reigns a few week back. This would mean that Reigns will defeat Strowman at the Great Balls of Fire 2017 PPV in an Ambulance match.

Lesnar vs. Reigns II was originally planned for the WrestleMania 34 main event. With this match now taking place at SummerSlam 2017, the main event of WrestleMania 34 has been changed as well.

According to reports, John Cena (who is a “Free Agent” now on WWE programming) could be in for a huge WrestleMania 34 main event match with “The Big Dog” Roman Reigns, possibly for the WWE Universal Championship (as plan for Lesnar vs. Reigns has always been for Reigns to defeat Lesnar and win the Universal Title).

Roman Reigns was a part of the last three WrestleMania main events and retired The Undertaker in the main event of WrestleMania 33 earlier this year. On the other hand, John Cena was last seen in a WrestleMania main event in 2013 at WrestleMania 29.

At WrestleMania 29, Cena defeated The Rock in the main event to win the WWE Championship, while Reigns made his WrestleMania debut that year.
