Update On Drew McIntyre’s Royal Rumble Frustration

Drew McIntyre was eliminated from the Men’s Royal Rumble by Damian Priest and something went wrong there.

After being eliminated, McIntyre was reportedly “screaming and cursing” backstage, frustrated that “someone had to get their moves in” at the expense of multiple storylines in the match.

He then loudly stormed out of the building, leaving well before the match even ended.

Daily Mail reported that McIntyre was left fuming after his elimination and his frustration was directed at one individual accused of trying to “take centre stage” during the crucial moment of him being eliminated by Priest.

PWInsider reported that McIntyre wasn’t happy about LA Knight’s “errant movement” with Logan Paul when he was getting eliminated by Priest.

If you watch the match back, Priest bumped into LA (who was fighting Logan) while trying to eliminate Drew and it took away from Drew’s elimination.

Fightful Select later noted that McIntyre missed the Royal Rumble afterparty due to this situation.

In an update, Chris Featherstone reported that the situation has cooled off now:

“Drew McIntyre’s frustrations have cooled off, and things are ‘moving forward,’ WWE sources have informed me.”

As we noted earlier, Drew McIntyre vs. Damian Priest is planned for WrestleMania 41.
