Below are some top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring Giulia, Leyla Hirsch, and Ricky Saints.
• Giulia, the reigning NXT Women’s Champion, is rumored to be dealing with an injury ahead of her title-for-title match against Women’s North American Champion Stephanie Vaquer at NXT Roadblock.
However, PWInsider reports that she only has minor “bumps and bruises” and is still expected to compete on March 11.
The match was announced on the February 25th episode of NXT, confirming both the NXT Women’s and North American Titles will be on the line.
• Leyla Hirsch is set to leave AEW as her contract expires tomorrow, and she will not be re-signing, according to PWInsider.
Hirsch, who debuted in 2020 and signed in 2021, recently feuded with Diamante in Ring of Honor and has competed against top AEW talent.
With a background in CZW, collegiate wrestling, and international experience in Stardom and WXW, she will officially become a free agent.
• Ricky Saints is thriving in WWE NXT after leaving AEW. According to Chris Featherstone, Saints has been “well received backstage” and hasn’t drawn any heat despite his quick rise.
His WWE move had been in the works for a while, as he was noticeably absent from AEW TV last year. Now in NXT, he’s already being positioned as a major player, with many believing he’ll reach main event status — something that didn’t happen in All Elite Wrestling.
Saints also has strong connections, including friendships with CM Punk and Cody Rhodes, which could help his rise in WWE.
