• Update On Mariah May’s AEW Status After WWE Signing Rumors

The Wrestling Observer reported yesterday that both AEW insiders and WWE contacts believe that former Women’s World Champion Mariah May is looking to make the jump from AEW to WWE.

Dave Meltzer revealed, “I know from people in WWE… they know she wants to go there. I don’t know when her contract is up, everyone seems to think it’s this Summer.”

His colleague Bryan Alvarez echoed that sentiment, saying, “I was given the impression it’s a two-year deal that she signed originally, so you can do the math. I have heard the same thing. At least in AEW, there’s a belief she’s heading to WWE.”

Meltzer also noted that her WWE aspirations were known well before she signed with AEW in November 2023. “Her dream is WWE,” he said, referencing conversations with people close to May before her AEW debut.

In an update, PWInsider is reporting that Mariah has significant time remaining on her AEW contract. One source suggested that her deal might last until November, while another source noted that her deal could extend into next year.

Mariah May quickly became a key figure in AEW’s women’s division through her alignment and eventual feud with “Timeless” Toni Storm. Their storyline culminated in the “Hollywood Ending” match at Revolution in March, where Storm emerged victorious. May has not appeared on AEW television since.

• AEW Signs Deal With CMLL For Dynamite At Arena México

AEW is officially headed to Mexico for the very first time.

All Elite Wrestling has struck a deal with Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre (CMLL) to bring AEW Grand Slam: Mexico to Arena México on Wednesday, June 18. Known as the “cathedral of wrestling,” Arena México will now host AEW’s debut show in the country.

The event will be a live episode of AEW Dynamite and is set to air on Fox Sports Mexico, TBS in the United States, and will also stream via Max.

Tickets are scheduled to go on sale Friday, April 26 at 10:00 AM through AEWTix.com and Ticketmaster.

It should be noted that WWE is going to Mexico as well. During the Flagrant podcast, Triple H talked about WWE’s upcoming plans:

“We’ll be in France and Paris. That’ll be off the charts. We’re going to go to Perth again, in Australia. You know, the Middle East is always off the charts. And we haven’t even touched South America. Go to Mexico. Like all these things that are upcoming, and we will be doing.”
