In a significant development for WWE’s 2024 prospects, the company seems on the verge of securing a major free-agent signing as the new year unfolds. This potential addition adds to the already promising start for WWE in the ongoing year.

For several months, WWE has expressed considerable interest in Giulia, a standout star in New Japan Pro Wrestling (NJPW). Rumors circulated about a possible offer from WWE, but contractual obligations restrained Giulia from making any commitments until her deal concludes in March.

Giulia, who currently holds the NJPW STRONG Women’s Championship after defeating Willow Nightingale, has been the subject of intense speculation regarding her future.

While many anticipated All Elite Wrestling to make a strong play for her, recent updates suggest that AEW did not actively pursue Giulia, leaving the decision-making process primarily between WWE and NJPW.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Giulia will sign with WWE. The report indicates that while Giulia’s contract with Stardom expires in March, the move to WWE might not be immediate, but signs point to a likely transition in 2024:

“Giulia right now is seen as likely to be coming here in 2024. Her contract expires with Stardom in March. She may not be coming in right away, but as of right now, she’s leaning toward coming here in 2024.”

In an update on this situation, insider source BWE is reporting that Giulia will start her WWE career in NXT this year, and won’t be brought straight to the main roster as speculated before.

Giulia’s departure from Stardom was teased during a recent match when a commentator said she might be leaving for a major promotion. You can watch it below:
