Shane McMahon has been linked to a potential role in AEW, sparking rumors about his involvement in a storyline with Jon Moxley.
Recent reports clarify these speculations, though nothing has been confirmed.
On July 29, 2024, McMahon met privately with Tony Khan, fueling speculation about possible collaborations.
The meeting, held near Arlington airport, marked their first direct conversation, during which they discussed working together.
Additionally, McMahon also met with The Young Bucks last month.
Rumors have been swirling around Moxley’s recent cryptic comments, where he hinted at someone else being in control, saying,
“this is not your company anymore.”
This led to theories that McMahon could be the mastermind behind Moxley’s group, which includes PAC, Claudio Castagnoli, and Marina Shafir, all of whom have WWE ties.
However, according to Dave Meltzer of the Wrestling Observer Newsletter, AEW sources have denied that Shane McMahon is part of this storyline, stating this is not the intended direction.
While some AEW talent would welcome McMahon’s involvement, it remains uncertain whether he will officially join the company.
Fans will have to wait to see if McMahon’s presence in AEW becomes a reality.
