Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving Sunny and SmackDown.

• WWE Hall of Famer Sunny is in prison following a felony charge of DUI. This legal action stemmed from an incident in March 2022, two months prior to her arrest, which resulted in the death of 75-year-old Julian Lasseter in Ormond Beach, Florida.

With a history of multiple arrests for impaired driving, Sunny faced a range of charges, including DUI causing death and driving with a suspended license causing death.

In the legal proceedings, she pleaded no contest to felony DUI causing death, driving with a suspended license causing death, and multiple misdemeanor counts related to DUI. A judge sentenced her to a total of 17 years in prison, with 8 years of probation.

The sentence includes 10 years for driving with a suspended license causing death and 7 years for DUI manslaughter. Notably, she is not eligible for parole. Upon release, she will face 8 years of probation, and her license has been revoked.
