Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, involving John Laurinaitis and Alicia Fox.
• John Laurinaitis is a co-defendant in the Vince McMahon lawsuit. His lawyer issued the following statement to VICE News:
“Mr. Laurinaitis denies the allegations in the misguided complaint and will be vigorously defending these charges in Court, not the media.
Like the Plaintiff, Mr. Laurinaitis is a victim in this case, not a predator. The truth will come out.”
In a follow up question, the lawyer was asked if he is indeed saying that McMahon was the predator and Laurinaitis & Grant were victims.
The lawyer replied:
“Read the allegations. Read the Federal Statute. Power, control, employment supervisory capacity, dictatorial $exual demands with repercussions if not met. Count how many times in the complaint Vince exerts control over both of them.”
In an update on this lawsuit, Laurinaitis submitted a waiver of service to the United States District Court of Connecticut yesterday. Essentially, he has notified the court that he acknowledges the lawsuit brought against him by Janel Grant.
By waiving the requirement for personal service of the lawsuit, he has pledged to respond within 60 days of March 15.
Laurinaitis is the first defendant in the case to formally respond to the Court.
• Former WWE Divas Champion Alicia Fox, now known as Vix Crow, is slated to make a return to in-ring action for her first singles match in 5 years.
Her last appearance in WWE was in January 2022, when she made a surprise entry in the Women’s Royal Rumble match.
Despite her hiatus from singles competition, Fox has kept her wrestling skills sharp by participating in a Reality of Wrestling show in 2023.
Now, as announced on “Gabby AF”, Fox will wrestle fellow former WWE Diva Mickie James in a singles match, marking the first time they’ve worked a singles match with each other since October 2009.
This also marks Fox’s first singles match since April 2019, when she lost to Becky Lynch on RAW.
