• Update On TKO Retiring Vince McMahon-Era WWE PLEs
WWE could be making changes to its Premium Live Event schedule in the near future. TKO President Mark Shapiro recently hinted that the company is looking to move past events originally created by Vince McMahon and focus on building new franchises under the leadership of Triple H and Nick Khan.
Shapiro explained that WWE is entering a new creative era centered on fresh branding and event concepts. He noted that many of the company’s Premium Live Events were introduced during McMahon’s tenure and said that it was time for the company to “take the torch and move past that.”
He also highlighted the success of Wrestlepalooza, which launched WWE’s new ESPN partnership, saying it did incredibly well and could become a recurring event in the future.
According to Fightful Select, Shapiro’s comments were mainly directed towards WWE’s monthly Premium Live Events, rather than the company’s biggest shows.
This means that events like WrestleMania, Royal Rumble, SummerSlam and Survivor Series will not be affected, because their name value is a lot.
Saudi Arabia is reportedly paying a total of $350 million for Royal Rumble 2026 and WrestleMania 43. They won’t pay that kind of money for Wrestlepalooza or other smaller PLEs.

AEW TBS Champion Mercedes Moné has had a very successful year in pro wrestling. She captured 12 different titles all over the world across various promotions, and is aiming to win her 13th this Saturday.
Pro Wrestling Illustrated released its list of the Top 250 women in wrestling today, which was topped by Moné.
The CEO celebrated the achievement on Instagram by posting a video of herself dancing and captioning it “#1.”
Adult movie star Kendra Lust commented on the post and expressed interest in collaborating with her: “One day when we see each other I hope we can make a fun clip…”
Moné replied: “GULP”

This isn’t the first time Lust has expressed interest in shooting a fun clip with a female wrestler. A few months ago, she reached out to former AEW Women’s World Champion “Timeless” Toni Storm, who ranked #2 on the PWI list.
