• Old School Wrestling Veteran Would Have Celebrated His Birthday

Today would have been the 67th birthday of Old School Wrestling Veteran “Pretty Boy” Doug Somers (Real name: Douglas Somerson).

Most Old School Fans remember Somers from his AWA days, where he formed a Tag Team with “Playboy” Buddy Rose.

Their feud with the Midnight Rockers Marty Jannetty & Shawn Michaels is legendary and they had some of the best matches in the long and illustrious history of Verne Gagne’s AWA American Wrestling Association territory.

In 1991, he had a brief stint in WCW as “Doug Summers”, where he lost to Van Hammer at the annual Halloween Havoc PPV.

Doug jumped ship the following year in 1992, when he worked for the World Wrestling Federation as an enhancement talent, putting over WWF Superstars like Bret Hart, Tatanka, Jim Duggan, El Matador, Owen Hart & The Big Bossman.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY & REST IN PEACE!

• Update On Two RAW Stars Getting Injured

Former RAW Women’s Champions Alexa Bliss and Sasha Banks have been pulled from the WWE Mixed Match Challenge due to injuries.

Regarding Alexa’s injury, WWE gave the storyline reason that Alexa suffered injury to her arm after Ronda Rousey locked her in an Armbar at Hell In A Cell 2018. However, Wrestling Observer is reporting that Alexa’s injury is legitimate and she was feeling numbness in her arm.

While Alexa hasn’t been cleared to return to in-ring action, she has been cleared for ‘minimal exertion’.

Alexa is scheduled to face WWE Hall of Famer Trish Stratus on October 28 at the first ever all-women’s WWE Evolution PPV and it looks like WWE is going to give Alexa enough time to heal to get ready for that bout.

Speaking of Sasha’s injury, no details are available regarding what happened to her.

According to the leaked match-card report for WWE Evolution, Sasha is rumored to compete in a tag team bout at WWE Evolution PPV (Ivory, Sasha Banks & Bayley vs. The Riott Squad).
