• Update On Whether CM Punk Has Heat With WWE Management After WrestleMania 42 Incident

CM Punk’s hotel lobby clash in Las Vegas after WrestleMania 42 happened shortly after midnight at the MGM Grand, right after Punk lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Roman Reigns in the main event. New video footage obtained by TMZ from the fan’s phone shows the fan approaching Bayley and AJ Lee while they were talking and hugging in a public area.

The fan walked up to the stars and said, “We love you, Bayley.” Bayley wasn’t in the mood to be filmed. She told the man, “Go away, dude, get out of here,” and tried to push his phone away.

That’s when CM Punk stepped in. Seeing the fan bothering his wife and his friend, Punk knocked the phone straight out of the man’s hand.

The fan, who wants to stay anonymous, is now speaking out. While he acknowledges that Punk had just suffered a huge loss at WrestleMania, he feels the wrestler went too far.

However, he isn’t looking for a legal battle. He told TMZ, “I want an apology — shake my hand. I’m not going to sue him or put him in jail. I just want an apology.”

According to Fightful Select, CM Punk faced no disciplinary action from WWE management after this incident. Punk went on to appear on this week’s RAW, where he teased going after Cody Rhodes’ Undisputed WWE Championship.

• Why WWE Teased Cody Rhodes vs. CM Punk

The original plan for WrestleMania 42 was for Randy Orton to defeat Cody Rhodes with help from Pat McAfee to win the Undisputed WWE Championship.

This would’ve led to Orton and McAfee vs. Rhodes and Jelly Roll tag team match at Backlash on May 9th.

However, McAfee requested to be booked out of this storyline because he didn’t like both the fans and the wrestlers being negative about this storyline. Orton RKOed McAfee at WrestleMania and then lost to Rhodes.

According to the Wrestling Observer, McAfee being out of the picture led to WWE teasing CM Punk vs. Cody Rhodes on this week’s RAW. This is a match that fans should expect in the near future.
