• Update On Whether John Cena Will Work A TNA Show Before Retiring
Despite speculation, Undisputed WWE Champion John Cena will not participate in any TNA events during his 2025 retirement tour.
While ESPN projected potential appearances outside WWE, including TNA, Fightful Select reports that Cena’s farewell tour is exclusively within WWE.
The collaboration between WWE and TNA allows talent exchanges, particularly involving WWE’s NXT brand. However, Cena’s schedule remains dedicated to WWE, with no plans to appear in TNA.
Cena’s retirement tour began in January 2025 and is set to conclude in December, with his final match rumored in Boston on December 13.
The 17-time World Champion’s next match will be at Money In The Bank on June 7th, where he will team up with Logan Paul to take on Cody Rhodes and World Heavyweight Champion Jey Uso.
• Former Champion Isn’t Leaving AEW Anytime Soon
Despite earlier reports suggesting that Hook, the son of Taz, might explore free agency upon the expiration of his AEW contract, recent developments indicate that he will remain with All Elite Wrestling for the foreseeable future, according to Fightful Select.
Hook has been a prominent figure in AEW since his debut in 2020, quickly gaining popularity. He has held the FTW Championship multiple times, a title originally introduced by his father, Taz, in ECW and later reintroduced in AEW. Hook’s most recent reign ended in September 2024 when he voluntarily retired the championship, handing it back to his father after a successful defense against Roderick Strong.
In recent months, Hook has been involved in high-profile storylines, including a feud with The Patriarchy and a partnership with Samoa Joe and Katsuyori Shibata as part of the faction “The Opps.”
At the AEW Double Or Nothing 2025 PPV, Hook made a return, assisting Samoa Joe during the Anarchy in the Arena match against The Death Riders.
