On this day in Pro Wrestling history on October 27, 1996, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired ‘WCW Halloween Havoc 1996’ LIVE on PPV from the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Paradise, Nevada.

This was the 8th out of 12 annual ‘WCW Halloween Havoc’ pay-per-views that aired between 1989 and 2000.

The tagline of the event was “A Night Of Terror And Suspense!”.

• Update Regarding John Morrison’s WWE Status

As we noted last month, PWInsider reported that former Intercontinental Champion John Morrison is returning to WWE as he has signed a new contract with the company.

According to Brad Shepard, Morrison has indeed signed with WWE and WWE officials are currently discussing about which brand Morrison will be used on:

“A source in WWE confirmed that John Morrison has indeed signed with the company to wrestle – they’re currently trying to figure out how to incorporate him into TV.

The original thought is that he will be on NXT or SmackDown.”
