Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day:

• As we have reported multiple times before, there have been several CM Punk references on WWE programming in recent weeks, to tease a possible return of the former WWE Champion.

One of these references was Shinsuke Nakamura hitting Ricochet with the Go To Sleep on RAW, which is Punk’s finishing move. WWE reposted this video on their Instagram page and captioned it “Shinsuke hits GTS”.

USA Network’s Instagram page fueled speculation of Punk’s return as they commented the following under this video:

“Best in the world.”

WWE later posted the following photo of Roman Reigns’ reflection in LA Knight’s glasses:

USA Network dropped a tease for Punk once again, as they commented the following under this post:

“Look in his eyes, what do you see?”

For those who don’t know, this is a line from Punk’s entrance theme song:

“Look in my eyes, what do you see? The Cult of Personality.”

• On Friday Night SmackDown, John Cena said his last televised singles win was 2,002 days ago, back in 2018. He teased retirement at first, but after the fans showed their support and chanted “you still got it”, Cena said he believes in himself and said the time to break this unfortunate streak is now.

He issued a challenge to the next person to come out. It was Solo Sikoa. John & Solo got into a brawl, but Jimmy Uso helped Solo. Jey Uso came out and got into a brawl with Jimmy, while Cena took out Solo with an Attitude Adjustment.

After the show, Cena took to Instagram to post a pic from ‘The Wolf of Wall Street’ movie from 2013. He posted a photo of the moment where Jordan Belfort (played by Leonardo DiCaprio) said he’s not leaving, thus indicating that he’s not leaving / done / retiring from WWE anytime soon.
