Below are some top news stories of the day, featuring Saturday Night’s Main Event and WWE ID.

• The return edition of Saturday Night’s Main Event drew a total viewership of 2.3 million viewers on NBC and Peacock.

The show drew 1.59 million viewers on NBC, with a 0.42 rating in the 18-49 demo. 700,000 Fans streamed it live on Peacock.

The last Saturday Night’s Main Event from 2008 drew 2.4 million viewers on NBC back then.

On the same night, AEW Collision drew 246,000 viewers with a 0.09 rating in the 18-49 demo, which is down from previous week’s 278,000 viewers with a 0.07 rating.

• Jesse “The Body” Ventura has returned to WWE, signing a Legends deal largely to secure his children’s future.

In an interview with the New York Post, the 73-year-old Hall of Famer revealed:

“I did it selfishly for my kids. I want to position it where if anybody makes money off my name, I want my kids to have a piece of it.”

The deal ensures Ventura’s legacy and family will benefit from his storied career as a wrestler and commentator. His comeback includes calling four Saturday Night’s Main Event specials per year.

• The first-ever matches of WWE’s new WWE ID (Independent Development) program took place during the WWN Supershow. Below are the results:
