• Vince McMahon Asked Former WWF Champion To Intimidate Hulk Hogan
On a recent episode of his weekly ‘The Kurt Angle Show’ podcast, our 1996 Olympic Gold Medalist spoke about the WWE King of the Ring 2002 PPV, which featured a match between him and WWF Legend ‘The Immortal’ Hulk Hogan.
Kurt noted that before their match, legendary WWF/WWE promoter Vince McMahon ordered him to intimidate The Hulkster, which didn’t really work out though.
After 12 minutes and 5 seconds, Hogan tapped out to the Ankle Lock and put the Olympic Hero over, clean and in the middle of the ring, something some critics falsely claim Hogan would never do.
Here’s what Kurt Angle had to say:
“Vince told me beforehand, ‘I want you to get out of your seat and put your nose this close to Hulk Hogan’s nose.’ I am like, ‘Why do you want me to do this? It’s Hulk Hogan.’
What he’s trying to do is intimidate Hulk, and you can’t intimidate Hulk Hogan, he’s a freaking bada$$.
But the crazy thing is, Vince wanted me to get out of my seat and get real close to his face like I was threatening him, it was ridiculous.”
