Below are some top AEW & WWE news stories of the day.
• During an interview with Chris Van Vliet, current AEW star Bobby Lashley defended Vince McMahon and decided to focus on the positive things McMahon has done in his life instead of his ongoing legal battle.
Here’s what the former WWE Champion said:
“I know what this business has done for me and my family. Like yeah, Vince is going through a whole bunch right now, we understand that, but Vince McMahon has personally fed thousands and thousands of people, and people don’t understand that.
When you have a business like he created, there are so many people there right now, the amount of mouths he has fed and kids that he put through college and houses that he’s helped buy.
Like, there’s so much that people don’t understand that, yes there are a lot of bad things going on with him right now. But because of that business, we have, so many people are able to do things they probably never had an opportunity to do.”

• Bobby Lashley reflected on WWE’s love triangle storyline involving himself, Lana, and Rusev, crediting Lana for making the experience enjoyable and manageable.
Speaking with Chris Van Vliet, Lashley revealed that Lana’s professionalism and dedication were key in helping him feel comfortable with the dramatic angle, which was outside his wrestling-focused comfort zone.
Lashley praised Lana for her organization and commitment, noting she fully embraced her role and ensured they presented the story convincingly. Despite criticism from fans, Lashley emphasized that Lana was respectful, supportive, and instrumental in executing the storyline effectively.
Here’s what the former WWE Champion said:
“It was 100% Lana that made me feel comfortable doing it. She was on top of everything. She’d be like, ‘Alright, I got a photographer over here. We need a photographer there. We need people to see us together so it’s not just thrown out there.’
All I’m thinking about is who am I supposed to wrestle or go smash? But she was pulling me in all these different directions.
I even asked her, ‘Are you cool with all this?’ And she was like, ‘Yes.’ She knows acting and was able to fully immerse herself into the character.
Some people were hard on her because it seems like she tries too hard, and sometimes it might not come off as sincere. But working with her, I realized she’s a sweetheart. She really helped me feel comfortable in that role.
I was working with her and her husband, and she kept it very respectful. She understood what the plan was and played her part perfectly.”
