• WCW Veteran Claims He Turned Down A WWE Hall Of Fame Induction
During a recent edition of the ‘Who The Fook Are These Guys’ podcast, Old School WCW Veteran Buff Bagwell (fka Marcus Alexander Bagwell) talked about his time in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling and being a member of the famous New World Order (nWo) stable there.
Below are the highlights:
On Eric Bischoff:
“Believe it or not, Eric was not a big fan of mine. He became a fan of mine and we became great friends, but at first, he was not a big fan of mine.“
On what eventually led to Bischoff starting to like him:
“I knocked a guy out at a club one night. One punch, then the Nasty Boys counted him out.“
On a potential WWE Hall of Fame induction:
“They actually called me to do the Hall of Fame thing (as part of the nWo, along with Hulk Hogan, Kevin Nash, Scott Hall & Sean Waltman).
I was like, I’ll be honest, I said, ‘I don’t want to be part of a group in the Hall of Fame, I don’t want to be like Brett Farve getting a ring because of the Green Bay Packers.’
It wasn’t me that got in with the nWo, that wasn’t me that was getting into the Hall Of Fame. It wasn’t the same. I said, ‘Hey guys, don’t take this wrong, please. I’d rather it be for something that I did, not something that the group did. Even though that’s cool, it really isn’t cool.
It’d be like Brett Favre getting a Hall Of Fame ring for the Green Bay Packers, that ain’t cool. I mean, Brett Favre got a ring because he’s Brett Favre.”

On this day in 2000, Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling aired an episode of their weekly TV show ‘WCW Thunder’ on TBS.
