• “We may have missed an opportunity with him” – WWE Hall Of Famer On Ken Shamrock

During an episode of his weekly ‘Grilling JR’ podcast, former WWF play-by-play commentator Jim Ross revealed that he thinks the World Wrestling Federation might have missed an opportunity with UFC Hall Of Famer Ken Shamrock.

Here’s what J.R. said about the World’s Most Dangerous Man:

“I always thought of Kenny as a top guy. He was hard to manage a little bit but in the beginning he wasn’t used to being on the road that many times much. So, he was a great character to build.

I have a lot of respect for Kenny and tough guys we know God almighty. He had no problem navigating the locker room cause nobody gave him any sh*t.

But he was very underrated in my opinion in the pro wrestling world. So, we may have missed an opportunity with him, no doubt.

If Ken Shamrock had become the (WWF) Champion, I would have no problem with that. He’s believable. His promos were believable because he didn’t memorize his lines. So, it was some good stuff, I’m a Ken Shamrock fan, was then, still am.”

After making a name for himself in the early days of Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) from 1993 to 1996, Ken Shamrock joined the WWF in February 1997 and worked there until September 1999.

The 1998 WWF King of the Ring also later wrestled for Total Nonstop Action! (TNA) during its early years in 2002 & 2004 and returned to the renamed IMPACT Wrestling from 2019 till 2021.
