In the main event of UFC 257 pay-per-view, Dustin Poirier TKOed Conor McGregor in the second round of their Lightweight fight.
This was McGregor’s first ever TKO loss in UFC. His MMA record is 22-5 now.

Poirier said the following about McGregor in the post-fight press conference:
“I felt his presence less, his aura less – I just saw another fighter tonight.
I think the first time I was kind of a deer in the headlights, you could say. This time I was just fighting another man. Another man who bleeds just like me. And I knew that.”

On this day in Pro Wrestling history on January 24, 1999, the World Wrestling Federation aired their annual ‘Royal Rumble’ event LIVE on PPV from the Arrowhead Pond in Anaheim, California.
WWF promoter Vince McMahon Jr. not only entered this 30-man Royal Rumble match, he did so as the #2 entrant, and – which is much more shocking – even won it.

– WWF Intercontinental Championship: Ken Shamrock (c) defeated Billy Gunn
– WWF European Championship: X-Pac (c) defeated Gangrel
– Strap match – WWF Women’s Championship: Sable (c) defeated Luna Vachon
– “I Quit” match – WWF Championship: The Rock defeated Mankind (c)
– Mr. McMahon won the 30-man Royal Rumble match
