Below are a couple of top WWE news stories of the day, featuring Jade Cargill, Shayna Baszler, Vince McMahon, and Janel Grant.

• Jade Cargill’s return has reignited tensions with Shayna Baszler stemming from an incident at WWE Clash At The Castle 2024, where Cargill tapped out unexpectedly while being in Shayna’s submission hold, which wasn’t supposed to be the finish of the match.

You can watch it below:

Backstage, Cargill reportedly said Baszler “needed to learn how to work,” a comment that spread and upset many, according to the Wrestling Observer.

While the issue had been quiet for months, Cargill’s recent promo demanding respect and referencing being “surrounded by wolves” reignited the controversy, with some WWE talents taking it personally.

• Janel Grant has filed a response opposing efforts by Vince McMahon, WWE, and John Laurinaitis to move her amended lawsuit to arbitration, arguing that the case should proceed in court.

Her attorneys assert that her amended complaint provides more details on the abuse she suffered, the coercive environment within WWE, and McMahon’s SEC settlement, which they claim is central to the case.

They argue McMahon’s claims of being “prejudiced” are baseless, noting his reputational harm was no worse than when the lawsuit was first filed.

They also reject the notion that the amendments were delayed, pointing out that the case was stayed due to a federal investigation, which McMahon was aware of.

Grant’s legal team further accuses the defendants of trying to exploit the passing of Judge Meyer for litigation advantage.

Regarding allegations against Dr. Colker and Peak Wellness, they argue his role is relevant, as he treated Grant under McMahon’s direction and is withholding medical records.

The court will now decide whether the case will proceed in court or move to arbitration.
