• Why AEW Used Ronda Rousey At Revolution, Rousey Expected A Different Reaction

Ronda Rousey shocked the wrestling world by appearing at AEW Revolution 2026, but it doesn’t look like she is officially joining the roster.

While she showed up to help her friend Marina Shafir against “Timeless” Toni Storm, multiple sources at AEW told Fightful Select that she hasn’t actually signed a contract. The appearance seems to be a one-off deal made possible because Ronda lives in the Los Angeles area and has a good relationship with Tony Khan. Also, AEW officials were really happy with the numbers Ronda’s ROH match drew a few years ago.

Backstage, officials were happy she got a heel reaction from the crowd, though some say Ronda expected a different reaction.

Despite some rumors, people in WWE and TKO say they weren’t shocked at all. They actually expect her to do whatever she can to work against them right now and don’t expect her back in a WWE ring anytime soon.

There are currently no follow-up plans for her in AEW. It’s likely she’s shifting her focus back to MMA, as she has a massive fight against Gina Carano coming up this May on Netflix.

For now, it seems the UFC Hall of Famer was just stopping by to support her friend and stir up some trouble.

• Seth Rollins Comments On Roman Reigns vs. CM Punk Main Eventing WrestleMania 42

During an interview with the Boston Herald, Seth Rollins said the following about CM Punk vs. Roman Reigns for the World Heavyweight Championship being the main event of WrestleMania 42 next month:

“I’m extremely proud that in all likelihood the World Heavyweight Championship is going to be featured as the main event on Night 2 of WrestleMania — which in my opinion is the true main event of WrestleMania.

Roman talked down about it as if it were a second-tier title when it was introduced, and so did a lot of other people. I felt it was extremely important that our world championship wasn’t monopolized by a guy who wasn’t going to be there enough to help elevate the talent with that title — and that’s Roman.

He took the part-time schedule and he’s earned that right. On the other hand, we needed a world championship that was going to be represented every week on the RAW brand, one that would allow new stars to be created. So I’m very proud that that belt will be in the main event of WrestleMania.

It is bittersweet that I’m not the one taking it into the main event of WrestleMania. It’s actually my most-hated rival, CM Punk, against Roman Reigns. The irony is not lost on me.”

At WrestleMania 41 last year, Rollins defeated Reigns and Punk in the main event of Night 1.
