• Why Booker T Turned Down An Offer To Join The nWo In WCW

Old School WCW/WWF Legend Booker T never joined the famous New World Order faction during his time in Ted Turner’s World Championship Wrestling, despite having an offer to do so.

Years later, when the nWo was brought back on WWE TV, Booker ended up joining for a few weeks, but it just wasn’t the same group without Hollywood Hogan (turned babyface at WrestleMania) & Scott Hall (fired after the ‘Plane Ride From Hell’ incident), which is why the storyline didn’t go anywhere in WWE.

During a recent episode of his weekly ‘Kliq This’ podcast, Kevin Nash revealed that he tried to get Booker T to join their stable in WCW, but the Harlem Heat member refused.

Here’s what Nash had to say:

“I wanted Booker. I wanted a black athlete. I wanted a black man and Book was a real dude. He always has been.

I remember I asked him. I said ‘Book, would you join the nWo?’.

He looked at me and said ‘Big fella man, Kev, I don’t want to work that f***** hard. You guys work every f***** house show’.

I said ‘Alright’.”
