WWE teased Brock Lesnar vs. Bray Wyatt twice in the company’s history.

The first time fans thought Wyatt would face The Beast Incarnate was in 2016, when The Wyatt Family eliminated Lesnar from the Royal Rumble match.

However, the match did not happen at WrestleMania 32 and Wyatt ended up having a segment with The Rock and John Cena. Lesnar, on the other hand, faced Dean Ambrose (Jon Moxley in AEW) on the show and won.

In 2023, Wyatt stated that he wanted a match at WrestleMania 39 with the winner of the Bobby Lashley vs. Brock Lesnar match at Elimination Chamber.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Lesnar was slated to face Wyatt at WrestleMania at one point, but he asked out of the match because he didn’t feel Wyatt’s character was the right opponent for him. It was nothing personal, though.

Lashley defeated Lesnar at Elimination Chamber via Disqualification, but Lashley vs. Wyatt could not happen at WrestleMania as Wyatt caught COVID-19 and was written off WWE programming indefinitely.

Lesnar ended up facing Omos in the opening match of WrestleMania 39 – Night 2, and defeated the 7-foot-3 Nigerian Giant.

Unfortunately, Wyatt passed away after suffering a heart attack on August 24, 2023.

Wyatt vs. Lesnar was WWE’s second choice for WrestleMania 39 and Wyatt vs. Lashley for the third choice. To know the originally planned opponent for Wyatt at WrestleMania Hollywood, tap here.
