Below are a couple of top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, featuring Daniel Garcia and Triple H.

• Daniel Garcia is staying with All Elite Wrestling, as confirmed by himself during a promo on AEW TV.

Despite strong interest from WWE, Garcia chose to sign a new deal with AEW after not being seen since All Out, where he lost to MJF.

In his promo, Garcia explained his decision, saying it wasn’t the easiest or most popular choice, but he would stay where the best wrestlers are — AEW. He also called out all AEW champions, signaling a new direction for himself.

The Wrestling Observer reported that AEW’s offer was significantly higher than WWE’s:

“The way he explained it on the air and (Tony) Khan as well was that it was a hard decision. Those in WWE said more than a month back that the AEW deal was significantly higher, and they expected he would take it.”

• After WWE Bad Blood, social media buzzed about the amount of blood in the Hell in a Cell match between Drew McIntyre and CM Punk.

Blood was common in WWE back in the day, but Vince McMahon largely banned blading after the PG Era began in 2008, enforcing an edict that could lead to hefty fines for wrestlers who cut themselves.

However, with Triple H now in charge, blading is allowed again, but only for “key matches and angles,” as reported by the Wrestling Observer. At Bad Blood, McIntyre’s bleeding from a toolbox spot was unplanned, but CM Punk was expected to bleed as part of the match.

This is just one of several changes since Triple H took over WWE, with more changes anticipated, including when RAW moves to Netflix in January. Expect blood to be used strategically for storyline purposes moving forward.
