• Why Former World Champion Chose AEW Over WWE Last Night
Former IWGP World Heavyweight Champion Jay White recently left New Japan Pro Wrestling.
There was speculation that White could be coming to WWE. There was even a report which stated that Triple H is very confident about signing White.
However, PWInsider reported that isn’t the case:
“There was absolutely no discussion of former New Japan Pro Wrestling star Jay White within WWE at all over the WrestleMania 39 weekend.
Based on multiple conversations with WWE officials and talents, we are told it does not appear White is WWE-bound.”
AEW President Tony Khan announced last night that White has officially signed with All Elite Wrestling.

According to Sean Ross Sapp, Vince McMahon’s return to WWE this year played a part in White’s decision to choose AEW over WWE:
“There was a lot of WWE interest in Jay White back in January, but a lot of things have obviously changed since then. Their loss is a big AEW gain.”
