As we reported earlier, a vignette aired at the end of tonight’s Bound For Glory 2023 PPV, which revealed that IMPACT Wrestling is going back to being called TNA.
TNA Wrestling will return with the Hard To Kill pay-per-view on January 13th 2024.
PWInsider gave the following details regarding this decision and why it was made:
– This news was initially planned to be announced at the Slammiversary PPV earlier this year. However, the plan got postponed and the decision was finally made 2-3 weeks ago.
– Several International partners of IMPACT preferred the TNA name and continued to use it internally.
– IMPACT conducted a quiet poll with its longtime fans and they voted that they preferred the TNA name.
– IMPACT Officials originally wanted to revive TNA as a separate TV show, when Moose brought back the TNA World Heavyweight Championship, but plans got dropped due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
– The weekly show is going to be called TNA IMPACT Wrestling.
– New TNA Championship belts have been created as well.
– As of this writing, there are no plans to go back to the iconic 6-sided old school TNA ring.
