Below are some top WWE & AEW news stories of the day, involving Kiana James, Kevin Owens and Vince McMahon.
• On Monday, it was reported that Kiana James was pulled from the active WWE roster and moved to WWE’s miscellaneous roster internally, typically reserved for talent unable to perform due to injury or other reasons.
In an update, PWInsider is reporting that Kiana was removed from the active roster because she suffered a leg injury and will be out of action for 6 months.
• At Bash In Berlin, Cody Rhodes defeated Kevin Owens to retain the Undisputed WWE Championship. Owens wasn’t happy after the loss.
According to the Wrestling Informer, Owens is still expected to turn on Cody and become a heel.
This move will lead to another title match on PLE between Rhodes and Owens. No word yet on which premium live event it’s going to be, but only 3 PLEs are left in 2024: Bad Blood (October 5), Crown Jewel (November 2) and Survivor Series (November 30).

He noted that under Vince McMahon’s leadership, WWE had strict rules regarding the use of household items as weapons to prevent children from imitating dangerous actions seen on TV.
Here’s what Dudley said:
“The first thing that came to mind was Terry Funk and Ric Flair. How do you not think about that? Because Terry Funk and Ric Flair, to my knowledge, were the first and only people to do it. The implication was very violent.
Vince did not want any weapons used that could be deemed regular household items. Vince didn’t want a child to be able to watch Monday Night RAW or SmackDown or any WWE programming and see them use a weapon they could find in their house and go use on their little brother, their little sister, or somebody at school.
So I could see somebody who maybe allowed their children to watch AEW who’d be like, ‘I’m upset because my 10-year-old saw the plastic bag spot and then immediately went into the kitchen and took a plastic bag and put it over his brother’s head’.”
