Below are some post-SummerSlam updates, involving Finn Balor, Gunther, Judgment Day, Seth Rollins & more.

• WWE SummerSlam 2024 introduced a new feature called the “Ref Cam,” which offered a unique perspective by providing a feed from the referee’s shirt. However, the results were mixed, as the footage wasn’t always clear or well-timed for key moments.

During the CM Punk vs. Drew McIntyre match, Special Guest Referee Seth Rollins was seen removing and discarding the referee camera.

According to Fightful Select, the battery pack for the Ref Cam fell off during the match, prompting Rollins to remove it. There was no backlash against Rollins, as technical issues with the Ref Cam were expected.

“Told that the battery pack fell off of the ref cam during McIntyre vs Punk and Rollins made the decision to take the camera off.

No heat on Seth, as it was seen as a possibility beforehand.”

• After Dominik Mysterio screwed Rhea Ripley and Finn Balor screwed Damian Priest at SummerSlam, World Tag Team Champion JD McDonagh hinted that he has left Judgment Day.

He took to Instagram to post photos of him tearing The Judgment Day T-Shirt and wrote:

“Never liked this shirt anyway.”

• During the ending moments of the World Heavyweight Championship match at SummerSlam, Damian Priest hit Gunther with the Razor’s Edge, followed by the South of Heaven Chokeslam. Priest went for the cover, but Finn Balor put Gunther’s leg on the bottom rope. Priest saw this during the replay on the big screen.

Priest went after Balor, but Gunther stopped him from behind and locked-in the Sleeper Hold. Priest got out of it and got his hands on Balor. Gunther powerbombed Priest and locked-in the Sleeper Hold again. Priest passes out and Gunther won the World Title.

Balor tweeted the following after screwing Priest:

“I woke up in a good mood.”
