• Why Top Free Agent Signed With AEW Despite Interest From WWE

On the September 28th episode of AEW Dynamite, Bandido made his debut in All Elite Wrestling and faced Chris Jericho for the ROH World Championship, and lost.

After this match, WWE was interested in signing Bandido (as he was a Free Agent), but he decided to sign with AEW.

His deal with AEW is for 3 years with the maximum number of dates. He’ll be working more matches in a year than majority of AEW’s wrestlers.

According to the Wrestling Observer, Bandido chose AEW over WWE because of his family:

“In the end, he realized he couldn’t sign with WWE because he’s got a child in Mexico and his significant other doesn’t want to move from Mexico and he doesn’t want to not see his child all the time.”

Bandido is a former ROH World Champion and a former ROH World Six-Man Tag Team Champion.

On Friday night’s episode of AEW Rampage, Bandido defeated Rush to advance to the next round of the AEW World Title Eliminator Tournament.
