The WWE Great Balls Of Fire pay-per-view took place on July 9th 2017, at the American Airlines Center in Dallas, Texas.

Matt Hardy discussed this show on the latest episode of his podcast. He said the following about the backstage reaction to this PPV name:

“I think the general consensus among the talent was huh? Whenever they heard Great Balls Of Fire was the name of the event. It is what it is.”

When Matt was asked if it’s a ‘Vince-ism’ and why Vince chose this name, he said:

“I mean, it’s gotta be. He’s a big Jerry Lewis fan apparently. For real, not joking. I’m pretty sure, like that song. He loves that song, that was one of his favourites.”
